Lost Acorn Band Members:
The Warrior Goddesses
of Funk and Healing
Amy Jo Claffey, Lost Acorn, Composer, Lyricist, Vocalist, Keyboard, Piano
Amy Jo Claffey is the founder of Lost Acorn, and writes, composes, and arranges all of the songs that Lost Acorn performs. Amy Jo sings the lead vocals and plays the keyboard, and is completely self-taught. Amy Jo's vision for Lost Acorn is to bring healing to those who have suffered trauma, which as she says, "Let's face it, none of us gets out of this life without facing some kind of trauma. My music is there to help you heal."
Amy Jo is our fearless leader, and keeps us rehearsing so we'll always be at the top of our game. She loves being at rehearsals and performing, saying, "I love my band family, they are always there for me and have my back! Lost Acorn goddesses are the best!"

AmyBeth Fisher, Lost Acorn
Amy Beth Fisher  sings our main harmonies. Amy Beth has won awards for acting and singing. She has been in several choirs and singing groups throughout her life. She knows ASL and has done signing for students and at events. She has a trauma history of being trafficked as a little girl by a police officer in her hometown. Despite this, Amy Beth keeps us laughing at our rehearsals. She and Amy Jo have known each other for decades and consider each other sisters.
Amy Beth loves the lyrics Amy Jo has written in Lost Acorn's songs, and totally believes in and is committed to the mission of Lost Acorn in helping all who have been traumatized and hurt.
Ashley Keith, Lost Acorn
Ashley Keith is the drummer and percussionist for Lost Acorn.  Ashley is skilled not only on the rock drum set, but also performed for three years with The Blue Thunder, Boise State University's renowned marching band. At her time getting her degree at BSU, she also won the audition to be a member of Symphonic Winds. She has played in other rock bands, but truly feels she has found her band family with Lost Acorn. Ashley brings a tribal and rock vibe to Lost Acorn, and during rehearsals, the other women sometimes have to stop and just enjoy her playing. Ashley celebrates the vision and mission of Lost Acorn.
Lily Shirley, Lost Acorn
Lily Shirley plays bass, acoustic guitar, and clarinet for Lost Acorn. Lily plays in her school band, playing bass clarinet, alto clarinet, and saxophone. She has recently been asked to play the quad set in her school marching band. She is, as she phrases it, "in Lost Acorn for lyfe", a fact of which we are extremely glad!
Lily views the mission of Lost Acorn as "bold and strong". A friend asked her once if we were punk, and Lily answered, "No one makes music like us, we completely do our own thing. Nothing is more punk than that!" Preach, sister!
Lily's favorite part of being in Lost Acorn is hanging out with the amazing goddesses and performing and learning new music.
Hannah Fisher, Lost Acorn
Hannah Fisher sings vocals and does beatboxing for Lost Acorn. Hannah sings in her school choir as well, and is involved in theater. Hannah says she enjoys how Lost Acorn reaches out "to people who are healing and need healing. I've always felt immense empathy towards people that are lost, or can't find themselves. I think that our music will help so many people."
Hannah really enjoys performing. She says that when we are on stage she can see people connecting to the lyrics. "It makes me know that what I'm singing to people can really make a differnce in their life at the moment."
Does Lost Acorn have a mission? You bet we do: YOU!!
Lost Acorn is here for YOU. We're here for you to dance, sing, go on a road trip, play at your party, play our music to help you get the house clean, or just listen and vibe.
Music is many things: It can take you instantly back to a place or time in your life, it can make you dance, make you laugh, or make you cry.  One important aspect of music is emotional and psychological healing. You've all felt it, when a song resonates with a place in your soul that is longing to speak. It's like you finally feel like someone understands you, or you finally feel a release from some repressed hurt, fear, or anger. Amy Jo's music and lyrics are written to give a voice to the part of your soul, life, and journey that is crying out for attention. In our social constructs, we are often discouraged from speaking out about how we are really feeling, how we are really doing. This leads to unprocessed emotions, which can lead to a myriad of problems, including depression, free-floating anxiety, and even physical symptoms such as stomach problems or headaches. That's where the music of Lost Acorn comes in. Listening to Amy Jo's songs can help you process your emotions and/or trauma (either current or past).
Additionally, Lost Acorn supports survivors of trauma of all kinds, especially those who have experienced sexual abuse or assault. If you need specific help, please email Amy Jo at amyjo@lostacorn.com for trauma counseling referrals or personal help. We're here for you, you are going to make it through whatever life has brought you to, even this.
Our music can help ease your way, so play a song right now, and relax and enjoy yourself for awhile, you deserve it!
